Rules & FAQ
Official show rules
These rules apply to every regular NVCS show. Deadlines are enforced by the platform in U.S. Eastern Time, including across daylight-saving changes.
Official schedule
Regular shows use a repeating weekly schedule. Special themed events may be added later, but they will not disturb the permanent numbering of regular shows.
- Monday · 6:00 AM ET
- Entries open. Approved entries become publicly visible.
- Wednesday · 9:00 PM ET
- Registration closes. Vote totals become publicly visible.
- Sunday · 6:00 PM ET
- Voting closes.
- Sunday · 9:00 PM ET
- Winners are announced.
Only approved entries appear in the public gallery or are eligible for awards. NVCS does not move a deadline once voting has begun; any late approval is handled against the published schedule.
Vehicle requirements
- · Members must be 18 or older and have an NVCS account.
- · Cars, trucks, SUVs, Jeeps and motorcycles are eligible. Side-by-sides and boats are not accepted.
- · A vehicle profile needs at least three photographs (maximum seven) and NVCS approval.
- · The member must own the vehicle or be authorized to submit it.
- · A vehicle may be entered in one official show at a time, and only once per show.
- · Different vehicles owned by the same member may be entered separately.
- · There is no minimum or maximum number of entries unless NVCS publishes one for a specific show.
- · A show proceeds even when entry counts are low.
Domestic or import status is stated by the owner. NVCS confirms the classification before judging, and a vehicle whose classification is unclear is reviewed by the administrator rather than guessed.
Judging and awards
Every regular show uses these six awards:
- 1. Best Import
- 2. Best Domestic
- 3. Best Jeep
- 4. Best Motorcycle
- 5. Best of Show
- 6. People's Choice
Best Import and Best Domestic are decided by a vehicle's import or domestic classification. Best Jeep is open to Jeeps and Best Motorcycle to motorcycles. Best of Show is open to any eligible vehicle, and People's Choice is open to every entered vehicle. Model year is not used to determine class, and there are no second- or third-place awards.
The four class awards and Best of Show are decided by the NVCS judge using a 100-point scorecard. Individual scores stay private — NVCS publishes confirmed winners, not scoring sheets.
A vehicle that wins Best of Show cannot receive an additional award in the same show. If a category has no eligible vehicle, NVCS records the award as not awarded. Ties in judged awards are settled by the judge's final decision, and any correction to a posted result is recorded with a reason.
A vehicle owned by an NVCS administrator is not eligible for the five judged awards. Whether such a vehicle may compete for People's Choice is left to the administrator's published policy.
People's Choice voting
Not active yet
Member voting has not been released. The rules below describe the published format so that the competition can be entered with full knowledge of how People's Choice will work.
- · Voting uses member likes. There are no paid votes, voting credits or multipliers.
- · A member must be signed in to vote.
- · One active like per member, per vehicle, per show.
- · Members cannot vote for their own vehicle, including any other vehicle they own.
- · A like may be removed and placed on another vehicle while voting is open.
- · Totals stay hidden until Wednesday at 9:00 PM ET, then remain visible until voting closes.
- · Voter identities are never published.
- · Likes decide People's Choice only — they never affect the judged awards.
Suspected fraudulent voting is flagged for administrator review. Confirmed fraudulent votes are removed with a reason recorded in the audit log.
Community guidelines
- · Be straightforward about what is on the vehicle and who built it.
- · Only submit vehicles you own or are authorized to represent.
- · No harassment, impersonation, spam or sexually explicit material.
- · Do not post another person's vehicle or photographs as your own.
- · Keep criticism about the build, not the person.
Members can report profiles, vehicles and content to NVCS. Reports are private to the reporter and the administrator. A single report never automatically bans a member — every report is reviewed. Enforcement may include a warning, content removal, restriction, suspension or permanent suspension, and members may appeal a decision.
These rules are drafts for launch and will be reviewed before the site is promoted publicly. Contact NVCS with any question about them.
